Approved and accredited by the Ministry of Education in China, Hebei International

Studies University (hereafter referred to as HISU) is the only foreign language studies

university with independent system in Hebei Province. Founded in 1998 and located

in Shijiazhuang city, the capital of Hebei Province, HISU has two campuses, namely

the main campus and Yuanshi Campus, with the total area of 2300Mu (which equals

to 153 acres). HISU is 280 kilometers to Beijing, only 60 minutes by bullet train.

HISU, a five-star private university, is one of the 26 undergraduate private universities

which has gained sufficient support from the central government of China. It has 16

secondary colleges, and offers 134 programs which covers 75 foreign languages. It

has 1305 faculty members, 8 foreign academicians, 220 foreign teachers and 30000

current students. The university has 6 provincial-level first-class programs and 6

national and provincial-level first-class courses. Apart from the language programs, it

offers a wide range of other eight discipline programs such as Education, Arts, Media,

Computer science, Architecture, Management, Business, and Nursing, which makes it

a comprehensive foreign studies university. The number of foreign language programs

at HISU ranks second among all Chinese universities, and the academic programs

cover 10 disciplines, including Media, Computer Science, Finance, Architecture,

Business Trade, Education, Medicine and Nursing, Transportation and Tourism, Arts

Performance and Foreign Literature.

HISU has established cooperation relationships with 407 universities, international

organizations, and scientific institutions from 82 countries and carried out cooperation

in terms of talents introduction, program construction, faculty and student exchange,

and scientific researches centering around the needs of China and Hebei Province.

HISU has been conducting multi-level and multi-dimensional cooperation and

exchanges of summer courses, exchange students, Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral

programs through the introduction of teachers, teaching materials, curriculum and

evaluation standards, and gradually achieving course credits mutual recognition. Our

initial internationalization goal is to ensure that the cooperation encompasses all

academic programs, and each secondary college has its specific and distinctive

cooperation program for establishing an international class.

After years’ development, HISU has established many international platforms,

including Hebei Association of International High-end Talents Exchange, Global

International Economic, Cultural and Social Research Institute, Hebei Foreign

Academician Workstation, Global Chinese Language Learning Center, International

Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, International Students College, International

Preparatory College, Shenglan College Students Communication Co., Ltd, and so on.

HISU is also a leading force in providing foreign language volunteers for many

international events, being The Language Talents Training Base for Countries along

the Belt and Road, The Support Base for Foreign Language Talents Working in Africa

and Latin America, The Multi-Language Translation Selection Base for China Wuqiao

International Acrobatic Festival, and The Language Talents Training and Selection

Base For Hebei Winter Olympics. HISU has been actively participating in many

international exchange activities by serving the need of national social development,

such as Beijing Olympic Games, Shanghai International Expo, China·Shijiazhuang

International Economic Trade Fair, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Industrial Transfer Series

Docking Meeting, Tangshan World Horticultural Exposition, the first Hebei Provincial

Tourism Development Conference, China · Langfang International Economic and

Trade Fair, etc.

The brand new World Park style campus of HISU comes into service in 2022. The

new campus with a total construction area of 1.23 million square meters is a park as

well.With beautiful lakes, hills and winding paths, there are nine functional areas in

the campus, including the world park-style education and teaching area, the

demonstration area of integration of industry and education, and the international style

town. Different buildings show the "culture, civilization, history, geography and

inheritance" of different continents and regions, so that people from all over the world

can find their own culture belongingness. It is a "global village" that integrates the

world's multiculturalism, Chinese and foreign industry and education, where the flock

of international teachers and students come to gather.

At present, HISU is actively striving to promote the professional development of four

key disciplines such as education, art, media and computer science, and looks for

partners who want to jointly set up Sino-foreign cooperative educational institutions
